Hi, I am one of the two new Divemaster interns here at Rocket Frog Divers and I was asked to post my thoughts and impressions of my first two weeks…where should I begin!? The diving is incredible: Giant pacific mantas, moray eels, sea snakes, white tip sharks, frog fish, huge(!) schools of different jacks, spotted eagle rays, sting rays, clown shrimps, devil rays, guitarfish… The species list is endless and I have only been here for two weeks! Compared to diving in Sweden, where I am from, you see more species during one dive here than you do in an entire season back home. On top of all the species you see while diving, humpback whales, dolphins and jumping devil rays entertain you during the surface intervals while enjoying fresh fruit on the beautiful and comfortable Pacific Express. Yesterday we even had a Giant manta showing up right next to the boat.
I ‘m truly amazed by the biodiversity here, both underwater and on land, the landscape is just beautiful. And the people here are great, everyone I have met so far has been so nice to me, the food is great and the beaches are beautiful. When friends from home ask me about how I am doing here in Costa Rica I reply, “It is too good to be true” and I mean it. So if you are considering coming to dive here, don’t hesitate, the diving is unbelievable!
And Mary, I have already seen a turtle!
Have a great day
Philip
