My name is Sean and this will be the first of a few blog posts about my 8 week internship in Costa Rica at Rocket Frog Divers, as I pursue my Divemaster certification.  A little bit about me, this is my first time to Costa Rica and I have been in the country for about 2 weeks now.  I am from Atlanta, Georgia where I am currently attending Georgia Tech.
I have had time to really settle into the awesome place that the guys here at Rocket Frog found for me. Â The house is perfect for me and my Costa Rican roommates are teaching me Spanish one day at a time(as I have very limited knowledge of Spanish), and all is made even sweeter by my part of the rent being 150 a month.
I have really started to fit into my role in the shop, which runs as massive group effort to make the diving as perfect as possible for the customers coming to dive the area. Â I have learned how to fill tanks, mix nitrox, and every day I learn something new about what it is to be a Divemaster in charge of others well being during a dive. Â I made my first trip to Bat Islands yesterday and while we did not see any Bull Sharks the dives were still incredible and full of life.
To me aside from the amazing diving in really warm waters, the people I have met so far have made this experience that much more enjoyable. Â All of the people at the shop, the people I live with, and the people who come to dive. Â Not to mention that Costa Ricans are just really friendly people in general.
I look forward to better things to come and to keep learning what it takes to run a dive shop.
Pura Vida
